Discover Magazines Top Scientific Discoveries

Yesterday I managed to find a copy of Discover's 100 Top Stories of 2010.

One of the topics that drew my attention is one called "What Lies Beyond The Edge of the Universe."
Now to even think of anything beyond is mind blowing in itself. But Astrophysicist Alexander Kashlinsky
says there's something from "way beyond the edge" powerfully pulling on galaxies. He calls this "Dark Flow."
According to the article it says they were studying cosmic microwave background radiation left over from
the early post big bang era. They found that giant clusters of galaxies scattered the radiation that made
it possible to determine how the clusters were moving. When Dr. Kashlinsky plotted the motions it was
determined that the galaxies were moving in a specific direction. This is roughly in line with the
constellation Centaurus. The article says that nothing "in the known universe can account for
the dark flow phenomenon. So it's thought that the pull is from matter and energy
"beyond our cosmic horizon." It's that it's possible the cause is at least a thousand times
farther than the horizon and causes 'a slight tilt to our universe.'
What if it were true?
