Remember to old TV time popcorn? Came in an aluminum frying pan and the foil puffed up into a big dome when it was done. You tore open the aluminum foil and ate it.

Jiffy Pop, is still available. I buy it everytime I go up to camp. Still has the original design. Foil bottom with foil expandable top. Works great on the camp fire. :mrgreen:

to me and im sure many,i expect everyone misses the old drive in theater..
all gone in my town...some exist and all too few..

video shops took over,but now they are struggling to survive..
it will take a while yet,but things will return i hope..

pain has its own rewards....sitting back and watching it from a view is kind of tastin the real thing.

Chiselray: About 12 years ago, when I lived in State College, we still had a drive in theater. 2 movies for $10 and at least one of them was a new release. It was AWESOME, and we'd go every weekend. I heard it closed down a few years after I'd moved away, sadly.

Thats right, it was jiffy pop, and I had no idea they still made it. I stand corrected. I was thinking everything went to microwave popcorn. How many people still pop by getting out a pan, and doing it on the stove using popcorn our of a jar?

I guess the drive in theaters went for 2 reasons. In Los angeles, the land was too valuable but movies all got Dolby surround sound and the only way to watch a good movie was inside a theater with nice seats and sound system. They also increased and increased the prices, until who in their right mind would pay those prices just to sit in the car.

Besides the drive in was never about watching a good movie, even in Austrailia Chiselray. :lol:
