I like the way you think.
bionic, if you do nothing, or the same thing and expect a new understanding of yourself, then you would be kidding yourself.
Same inputs give the same outcomes.
However, if you try a different approach than you had in the past, then what you could achieve would be a new outcome.
Different inputs give different outcomes.
Only a good theory if you don't wish to do anything practical about understanding who and what you are. Your choice.

Malai5,
Good point.
There's a common saying that goes something like "One definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a differetn outcome"
It's simply common sense.
However, let's keep in mind that life is very much a tennis game between one and fate.
Your input..life's input..back and fourth.
Energies build, lessons are learned/and forgotten/and then relearned or differently learned. (in their own time..we have eternity, after all)
Sisyphus comes to mind..

I'm sure you've read "Desderata" at some point.

"To everything there is a season"
A time to be dogmatic on oneself (and others) and a time to go easy on oneself (and others)
included
But I do appreciate your message, as i see it was a reading to me from spirit, spiritual advice. I recognize it for what it was/is. I got the same message (from other conduits/sources)
"Change it up a little, baby!!"
But high above and beyond any 'spiritual messages' I get, I hear a repeating message (from 'on high'), a reminder to always be kept in the back of one's mind..
"The universe is unfolding just as it should"
