The trick is getting yourself "out of the illusion mode" to self discover anything. Too many are living within the illusion and never figure it out, trapped in playing the game with everyone they contact. They hide behind an image or facade, a pretend role, false sence of importance, or just material things that never are enough. Money, power, 5 minutes of fame! Many actually get trapped into the corporate world of illusion for a lifetime, occupational illusions none of us escape since we all have to work. The illusion of security, by selling yourself short in ability and living life in a security blanket of a safe job. WE all do that one. The real big one in the illusion department has to be the hierarcy of the local churchs, and the politics within it. The illusion of love and caring, when it is actully a popularity ladder of internal backstabbing, and the status of reaching the illusions of the upper levels of the church. When you are low on that ladder, you always feel the illusion of being much higher up that ladder, to those outside the church.
Everyplace we turn, we are sold on some illusion, from toothpaste to cars, food we eat, and what should be regarded as beauty. The illusion of saving in a 401K plan for security, hasn't looked to great lately thats for sure.
