Anyone see the new one yet?

Uh...light years ago...
It was rather good...but it does not live up to the hype...in my opinion...
It could have a bit more action to it...
It´s not that far better than the last version of it...

It was good, not better than the original. They were good to not make it overly action packed... If there is one thing I despise in movies, it's when they do a remake, and make it more about the action and the special effects than about the story.

I know but...they should have used that Robot a bit more...
It was kind of a waste of time and useless to have that in the movie...

GORT turned into a swarm of nanites and pretty much destroyed everything between DC and NY! lol

Yes...but the whole metal bug idea kind of made the movie...less...interesting...
I mean bugs? really...common, aliens can do better...

How many times have aliens used a giant robot or space ship with laser rays, and all that stuff, to destroy Earth?

I can't remember the last time one of them turned into a swarm of robotic locust-like nanites disintegrating everything in their path. I think the effect was better, I think made our own technology look that much more pathetic in comparison... I mean big deal, in every other alien invasion movie the aliens make a bigger bomb or a bigger gun to make our weapons and building blow up, and we can build a bigger bomb too, in contrast, nothing we have can do what the aliens in this movie could do, and in this movie we survive simply because they let us.

Well yeah but it still seems too...earthly...

i really enjoyed the original better. It relied more on your thinking than the visuals. I found i thought less about the subject matter when i watched the newer version. They really "drove it home" too much with the generated images for me.


i still agree with the idea to wipe this all away. we dont and i dont think we will ever do anything good for this place.

Ah the joys of graphics killing another movie.
Lately too many effects and graphics are used and they overshadow the real storyline.
