BO says the war on terrorism is over. No one is allowed to use that phrase in the white house. Hmm, I wonder what we are calling that stuff in Afghanistan? I wonder what he calls that missile attack yesterday that killed some Al Qaeda leader in Pakistan? I wonder what he calls the continuing acts of violence in Iraq?

The war on terrorism, what was it? Where was it? Who was it? Where was the final battle fought? Who signed the armistace? Does Al Qaeda agree with BO? How bout OBL?

This is right out of Bo's bible, 1984.

I'm surprised no one here picked up on this story.

Would you apply that to the Vietnam War? The people of any free nation engaged in a war should be informed of the details of that war. Who are we fighting? What caused the war? Why are we fighting it? What is the progress? What are the terms of success and failure? What is our exit strategy? A free people should demand the answers to these questions.

For the WoT, that no longer exists in BO's mind:

Who are we fighting? Islamo Fascists, al Qaeda, Saddam.

What caused the war? 9/11 + Saddam thumbing his nose at the UN and other atrocities.

Why are we fighting it? Because we want security at home and abroad + economics.

What is the progress? Saddam's regime is gone, Iraq is more or less capable of dealing with its own problems. Afghanistan is still a mess. OBL is a ghost. Most of al Qaeda'a leaders have been 86-ed. We are out of playing cards.

What are the terms of success and failure? None specified.

What is our exit strategy? None specified. Draw down of forces over time as nations harboring terrorists are made secure, is implied.

Now that's a war I could get behind.
War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.

Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.

Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.

War = Life

I was tired of the phrase War on terrorism anyway along time ago.
It sounds so childish.

Needs a better tone to it...

Hostage executions, how brave.

May each motherf***er who partoke in such an act (or was present and did nothing to stop them) meet a very violent, painful, and insanely frustrating death.

To kill in battle is one thing, to kill a hostage, bound, defenceless... That's cowardly.

Try this in Google Earth: 25° 7'1.96"N 55° 8'24.17"E
If you are going to turn the UAE, and nearby countries, into the next Las Vegas then you are going to have to get rid of Saddam and the Islamo-Fundamentalist terrorists, aren't you? Done. I wonder if any of the money these places are going to generate will make it back to the US? I wonder if there will be a Sands Casino? We need more videos of Saudi Highway Surfers.

Would you prefer "War on Islamo-Fascist Fundamentalist Sharia Law Oppressive Suicide Bombers from Jerkajerkastan"? Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...
