This is a sincere question:

How does the US benefit from it's relationship w Israel?

Jew gold.

Pisses off the Muslims.

The truth is, the US does not benefit that much but Israel is a democracy in the middle east, plus we can land there in emergencies, use MIL bases, plus if the Muslims are always pissed at Israel then that gets them off our back. And, we can indirectly threaten the middle east by supplying weapons to Israel. And finally, it is the holy land after all and many Judeo/Christians want the West to maintain control of it. Even the Catholic church is in favor of that, for the last 1,000+ years.

I don't think it has anything to do with gold. Israel is not a rich nation; the US gives billions to Israel every year. Israel does develop some high tech products though.

Actually outside of the possible blackmail Israel does to the USA, the USA does have a strategic interest in Israel and that applies to Egypt as well, this is the control of the Suez Canal. As long as the USA can assure a friendly regime is in control of the Canal they get a topographical short cut for oil and other goods being shipped via water. If hostilities break out over the canal prices will go up and freighters could be destroyed.

Our founding fathers didn't want to "piss off Muslims". Our founding fathers were Capitalists who wanted to trade with them. That is documented in the Treaty of Tripoli where it was stated that the US is NOT based on Christianity. Thomas Jefferson had a copy of the Koran, to learn from it and he didn't believe in modern day christianity.

The truth is, Isreal isn't a true democracy. No matter how the people of the nation vote, it still has to be approved by a Rabbi. It's kinda like how the Brits have to be approved by Queenie. The Rabbi, and their council hold the ultimate veto power. I'll try and find some of my old links to show you how f'd up their government is, as time permits.

Israel has only murdered Americans, look up the USS Liberty. They've stolen top secrets, spied on us, etc. Other than that little strip of water and an airbase or two, Israel is useless. The problem with Israel is that they're very expensive to American tax payers and to human lives. Personally, that little strip of water and a couple of bases aren't worth all the atrocities that Israel commits. Let Iran blow them away for all I care. Unfortunately, there are good humans who are Israelis too. It is just their government that sucks. I hate to see good humans and animals get murdered.

That whole "holy land" myth...the early zionists knew that the Palestinians were actually the real Hebrews, not the Ashkenazis who rule Israel today. Besides, if people actually read and believed those books they'd know that the "promised land" isn't man made, like Israel was. It is supposed to be made by their god, which hasn't happened yet (nor will it). Until their god creates that land and leads them to it, nothing else counts, including the nation currently called Israel.

I hate the Israel government, but I hate terrorists, thieves and liars. So, since the government of Israel is all three, it would be obvious why I'd hate them.

Anything they come up with is either a copy of our crap, or a half-assed attempt at making our crap.

The relationship is a Dawg and Pony show so that the US and it's allies can influence policy within the region, that's why the US always bows to Jewish pressure and casts off the embarrassment of doing so to keep an eye on the big picture and continue to maintain the presence, and the influence.

The religious stuff is just an act to keep those who's lives revolve around such on the hook.

I disagree, Israel is what it has always been a trade route crossroads and bottleneck. Control of this nexus point controls the flow of goods. Some goods like oil should not be shipped via air (plane or airship). However, if freight airships could come into play, and the world got off fossil fuels the ancient trade routes through Israel would collapse for the most part except for the food trade. The key still remains getting off fossil fuels, when that happens the only sway that the region has on the world is tourism and pilgrimage since most of the traditional food products don't have to be shipped by sea.

So how does your post/thought/reason ELIMINATE the word INFLUENCE from the equation.
Further " FOSSIL FUEL " mainly OIL~ is nothing more than a currency and has been since the 50's-early 60's. EASILY THE MOST MANIPULATED currency of all time and firmly in control of the super powers who allow it to be manipulated for complete and total control of world events.

Getting off of Oil is a Shell game, no pun intended. It ain't gonna happen because it ain't supposed to, there's still TOO much money/profits to be made by those in control of it.

That concept that we cannot get away from oil is now a faulty concept in todays world. But even without todays technologies we could have easily backstepped back to horses and sailing ships and foregone all the oil problems if we truly wanted to. In point of fact sailing ships will come back eventually.

Israel's only real influence is over the bottleneck as long as the goods need to go through the squeeze point it has power. Remove the goods and there is no power or influence. The USA interests in the region is strictly to maintain the flow of the goods to itself, remove the goods and it has no interests in the region.

When the USA has "Interests" in a region it means it means it has trade in specific products with a party in that region. If there is no need for the product in the USA or if there is a bettertrade route it ignores the region. This is why wars and problems in Africa are generally ignored except when public outcry or acquiring products is threatened. Public outcry is fickle it might cry out about Darfur but at the same moment the humanitarians disasters in the Congo might be worse. Certain other nations intervene in other nations like the Ivory Coast as proxies for the USA in there own interest, the case in point France and this is over cacao bean. The nations of the world fight over resources, if there is no need for a resource then they stop fighting over it. Oil is big thing right now because the USA consumes most of the worlds supply of it. Once it doesn't require it it will ignore OPEC and Israel as passe causes. The next big resource that will be fought over and ship is clean water for drinking and agriculture or it will be over tantalite.
