Which was brilliant by the way
So good to see a superhero film done intelligently, like the Dark Knight. The visuals were incredible, sometimes breathtaking, sometimes very subtle, whilst the soundtrack had a leading role all by itself it was so good.
Most important, though, were the heroes. Each character was detailed, flawed, and very human. Rorshach was just sublime and perhaps one of the best anti-heroes ever.
Overall it reminded me of films like Bladerunner, Clockwork Orange, or even Kill Bill, where the visuals, characters and music all blend to create something with a very distinctive feel all of its own.
BTW, did anyone notice that in the scene where we first see Ozymandias in his office being interviewed and responding to allegations of cashing in on his hero status, the window shows a panorama of the NY skyline, and there in the background are the twin towers with a blimp flying slowly towards them eerily symbolic of 9/11?
