ok..lets get one thing straight...this thread is not about any human organizations of people in any way shape or form..what ever "angel " network they might belong to...

This thread is intended for discussion on the angels, spoken of in the holy bible, and other holy books.

Are they real...which spiritual dominion to they reign over....?

I do believe angels are real
in the spiritual dimensions
I think there are different types of them..
I also think they have way more to do with the unseen, than we give them credit for.....as well as, all of the dimensions.

Any thoughts on angels,that you wish to share ...please feel free to share...

even angel stories are welcome...

I have some ..but perhaps I'll wait for later in the thread.
if anyone can share the dominions..or levels of angels..and maybe some names of some..that would be muchly appreciated as well...

Hi,

Angels serve as messengers in the bible. We must be careful not to worship them as some new age groups do. People are not meant to try and contact angels, but I believe they do exist and still carry messages from God to us.

I have had a couple of interesting experiences with what I believe were angels. The most extraordinary one happened when I was pregnant with my second son. I liked the name Joseph a lot for a boy, but decided to pray about what I should call him. I did not know at the time what I was carrying, a boy or a girl so I asked God what "he" thought about the name Joseph, and to please send me a sign to let me know.

Two weeks later I was at a restaurant with my mom, and husband. As we were getting ready to leave my mom and I waited at the entrance while my husband payed the bill. Suddenly, out of "nowhere" a man with flaming red hair appeared at my side, he said "Its going to be a boy....name him Joseph, its a good name." I was unable to speak for a second, but then mumbled, "Yes, I will". I turned to look at my mom, who was smiling at the man, then turned back to look at him again and he was gone! He was nowhere in the restaurant, he vanished. I asked my mom, "Where did that man go?" She said, " You mean that one with the beautiful red hair?" I said "yes". But she seemed almost in a dazed mode. Neither of us seen where he went or where he came from. My husband never seen him.

To this day I believe it was an angel that told me to name my son Joseph, which I did by the way. I know there are skeptics who will call it "coincidence", but it will always be a message from God in my opinion. The entire event was otherwordly and different from the everyday, if that makes sense.

This is a huge subject and for now I will only bring to attention the word angel means messenger of God (as far as I know).

I've encountered a few entities that might be called angels, but I would rather just call them potent beings. Some of these were "in the form of" inanimate objects, like light.

I don't know any names or levels, but I do know, I would not be here today if it weren't for an angel.

thank you sandra....and you are correct..angels are angels...but they do seem to have "specific" jobs, or types of assignments they are given...or take on?

Here are a few things concerning angels.

In Genesis, they appear as men, and I guess they’re not to ugly since the men of Sodom wanted to have their way with them. (Gen 19)

Jacob had a dream with a ladder reaching from the earth to heaven with angels ascending and descending on the ladder. The point is, they are coming and going here on earth. (Gen 28)

Now as Jacob went on his way, the angels of God met him. Here is the second confirmation where angels interact with humans. Actually it’s the third, since Eve dealt with Lucifer. (Gen 32)

Angels do eat since man did eat the bread of angels. I take that to be manna that the Lord sent during the exodus (Psalm 25)

There are destroying angels. (Psalm 49)

They have charge over us. They guard us. (Psalm 91)

They are mighty in strength and they obey God’s Word. (Psalm 103)

Angels are ministering spirits. (Matt 4)

Angels are reapers. (Matt 13)

Angels are gatherers. (Matt 13, 22)

We know that little children, at least, have guardian angels. (Matt 16) I can testify to that. Now one may object because bad things do happen to children, so weren’t their angels doing their job? To that, all I can say is, for whatever reason, I guess the Lord wants them home with Him.

They don’t marry. (Matt 22)

They are not privy to all information. (Matt 22)

There are plenty of them. (Matt 26, Rev 5)

They are messengers of good news and they sing praises to God. (Luke 2)

They escort us to our final abode. (Luke 16)

Angels do not die. (Luke 20)

Angels appear in dreams. (Matt 1, Luke 24)

Angels will be judged. (I Cor 6)

Angels have their own language. (I Cor 13)

Again, angels can appear as normal human beings and we have entertained them without knowing. (Heb 13)

Some angels have sinned. (2Pet 2, Jude 1)

In the book of Revelation angels are extremely active, from praising the Lord (they are worshipful), to sounding the trumpets (they are musical), to delivering God’s judgments (they do the dirty work). They are soldiers in a war. They are called holy (obviously only the angels that serve the Lamb). I highly recommend reading the Book of Revelation. It’s coming soon.
