Obama swore up and down that Obamacare was NOT a tax, but today the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare because it is a tax. That was the reason given by the Supreme Court. This PROVES in a court of law, the highest court, that Obama lied.

If you eat salt, sugar, fat, take vacations, travel, buy recreational vehicles, jewelry, clothes, or a backup generator for your house, the government can declare a tax on you. They can tax you for ANY reason. This is the beginning of the end for the United States. Obamacare will bankrupt the country. Remember, it was excessive taxation which spawned the American revolution.

I believe they do know, they just don't care. The country is lost. There is no doubt that the healthcare system needed fixing but Obamacare was not the answer. Also, this country is already bankrupt, Obamacare will just finish it off a little quicker.

However, it is worse than that in my opinion. Forgive me for bringing religion into the equation but, Obamacare essentially allows the government to force its citizens to purchase whatever it deems necessary. The precedent has now been set. If the government decides to "chip" its citizens it can do so. The possibility for the "mark of the beast" has just taken a huge step forward.

I agree Qmark, you beat me to saying we already are bankrupt, and that the healthcare industry was broken, but obamacare is not the solution. Our nations credit rating has been reduced twice now, and the defecit keeps increasing. How can you owe $15 trillion, think about this level of program. The USA seems to fix everyones problems in the world, but can't fix our own.

It seems amazing to me that despite the US rapidly becoming an idiocracy, that the majority of the people can get it right, on occasion. Most people recognize that there are real problems with the health care system and they simultaneously realize that Obamacare is not the solution. Amazing that the people can figure it out but not the federal government and certainly not Obama.

The saddest thing of all is that the health care system will probably never be fixed because the people don't understand what caused the problem in the first place. The problem was caused by interference in the free market forces which would have driven prices down. With government providing health care, medicare, medicaid, employer provided health insurance, out of control lawsuits, and health insurance itself, we had a never ending force driving up costs and demand and therefore prices. Unless you get the free market to do what it does best you will not get the prices down. There have been a good number of non-partisan studies of the future of health care costs and they WILL bankrupt the country if the system remains as it is now. Obamacare will just make it happen faster.

There are several sides to the inflation and out of control state of our health care.

On the subject of rejecting preexisting conditions, this is something most group policies I know of, never have done. Everyone is equal usually in a employer group policy, at least mine use to be. My company use to provide 100% medical when I first was hired, and every year or new contract, something was taken away or reduced. The HMO's came into being and so called managed care was boloney. All the HMO's doctors you picked as a primary got annual money if you walked in the door or not, and became gatekeepers to specialists or tests. I never went with HMO's an never will, i consider them the worst options. For decades the doctors and hospitals ravaged the medicare system with all kinds of bogus billing, double billing, and stripped the system clean, now they complain when medicare doesn't pay them very well. Doctors consequently overbill to the max, all conventional insurance to make up for the losses, so they came up with the concepts of PPO providers, where they all were forced to sign up for contracted rates. The Doctors themselves ruined much of the system with their cheating greed, while their patients just turned a blind eye, thinking who cares "I'M not paying". So some of it is everyone's own damn fault, not watching claims and speaking up. We have been through quite a few hospitalizations, and 2-3 months later when you are fighting claims, and you visit turned into a "free for all", with every Tom, Dick, and Harry walking by with a clipboard, its out of control. They depend of sick people being in no condition to fight these things, so they take advantage of them.

Precription prices are out of control, and usually if you have coverage, limits you to a 30 day supply dooled out, in quanity that drives prices up. Mine has a 90 day mail program. The price of brand names are out of control, when the quantity they make these things, does not justify all the mark up, from manufactor, distributers, and the pharmacy. Must be 1000% or more markups. We are really at their mercy on the prices. They need to expose the gouging, and hidious profits made in this industry, and who gets money as a result of your prescription.

that what I say when I see a dr. or nurse. " I'm a client of dr .----- " pisses them

off royal. god I love it !... anywho, who wants to be a patient for life ?

psychologically , to me it's 'wellness defeatist' thinking. think about it.

who wants to be ill the Rest of your life. a patient by definition 'under the care...

denotes illness and is psychologically belittling.

proofs - look at the use of tiers and the use of 2nd generation drugs. as if.
can you believe this s--- . if one Bp drug is superior to another , why don't you
have it ? cost ? needs drs blessing ? do they like you ? has this affected
medical literature ? and generalized medicene .

so, to preserve profit . literature is supporting these myths . case in point,
we go from tier drug schedules due to cost and not clinical efficacy ?
give me a f - break . back on point, contrast w/ medical publications and
studies . (some good /many dubious) rats and small study groups to present a
money maker . and the medical literature is in lock step. - first line of defense for blood pressure difficulty are diuretics ... followed by ... note least expensive to most . that is intriguing to me .

are we financially digging out companies and subsidizing w/ our life , profits from a failed drug because they have to complete paying for their infrastructure namely investors.

question for fellow punditry , are we perpetuating declining profits at the expense of public health. ? some if not all pharmaceutical companies are
profit motivated . we answer to god , they the stockholders . go figure.

bribes no . of course not. but the dr. will need a series of return visits to confirm
what he or she already knows... before approving you for the drug that actually
improves your health, quality of well being.

greeney, agreed. We need medical billing to have consequences. Doctors should have to advertize prices up front. You don't like the price? Go somewhere else. That will drive competition. You don't buy a car and then have the salesman tell you the price! Why do we allow that for health care? And ultimately, as long as you have insurance the price will be inflated because that's what insurance does. Its a market artificiality.

As it is now the system is completely corrupt and the doctors apparently have every politician bought off. The politicians have no clue how to solve the problem and the entitlement system deters them from even trying.

Government no longer serves the needs of the people.
