My next poem. I'm finding it difficult to articulate the thoughts swirling in my head.

I feel, just my opinion

It is not ego driven snobbery whatsoever.
Some people refuse to grow and change and lack substance in what
they know, some peoples knowledge is simply 'thoughts' 'beliefs'
with absolutely no purpose or truth in their life. Many people
will actually seek knowledge for the purpose of hiding the truth
of themselves within it all, can hardly blame them, life can be
scary, living our lives can be terrifying, but
real enlightenment does not come without being able to face fears.
People that don't face their own fears, many times everything applies
to everyone but themselves.

"Enlightenment (spiritual), a final blessed state free from ignorance, desire and suffering, the knowledge that we are all cosmically united as a race of humans unrelating to race, creed, or any other man made dividing lines"


Knowledge alone, awareness, is one thing, its another thing to do something
with it, its another thing to let it shape and guide your life and your
experiences. Many people think they can live their life however they
want because in the end they will be saved, and some of those people
are people with great awareness. Sometimes we do anything to fool
and keep ourselves from living with the truth.

There probably are as many ways to define 'enlightenment' as they are ways to define 'beautiful' or 'intelligent'. Many, many ways. I personally don't see it as a final anything but closer to a beginning. I strongly doubt that anyone I've ever heard of is free from ignorance, as the totality of all there is to know is quite vast. What are those aliens in the 64th galaxy in the 38th dimension up to today? How much ignorance we have compared to them. We may never be free of ignorance. Freedom from desire and freedom from suffering go hand in hand, of course. Many more alive and dead have that kind of freedom compared to freedom from ignorance.

If idle hands are the devil's hands, then what are idle minds?

If an idle mind is not trying to save oneself or another from the truth,
than an idle mind might be good. Sometimes we just become better
liars. We make it harder for ourselves than it needs to be, we become
accountable for more and more unwilling to look at any of it. Sure why
not pile ourselves in it. It makes our burdens begin to feel unbareable.
Its not good feelings inside. But what we know sure looks pretty?
We all want more than that, and we deserve more than that.

I would agree, and we all often know how people individually define things as we get to know them.

I don't even have my own definition of enlightenment, though I have some idea what I think it's not. It's not the majority. It has to do with self-awareness first, which is an ever-increasing circle. Could I be more vague??

I agree that the title "false enlightenment" is misleading, unclear, confusing, etc.. But I don't edit, like I said. It's there for a reason.

At least in my experience, there is a stage one shade in front of enlightenment that isn't genuine; partly that's based on things I've read that speak of such things.

Why is it so important to seek enlightenment? That's a hard question to answer for me, especially since I don't have a definition of the term etched in stone. I do believe that enlightenment is not equal to perfection, such as a complete lack of ignorance, complete lack of desire, complete lack of suffering. There's an old parable that goes something like this. "Before enlightenment, there is a tree. After enlightenment, it is still a tree." Something small I take from that parable is that enlightenment involves the self primarily.

There are a lot of positive things to seek. Enlightenment, of course. Eden/the nexus. Happiness. Wisdom. Self-awareness. Awareness. Peace and love. Heaven. The kingdom of God. Salvation. Rebirth. In my experience, seeking these things is fine and good but often what is sought moves further away when sought, like Tantalus. For example, love tends to be found when it is not looked-for, pushed-for. So how the hell do you find any of it? Making it one's intent to seek kicks things off, but the intentions are thoroughly examined before any sort of conclusion.

I'm still far from a lot, of course. It would be pretty boring if I was "there yet." j/k

Sadly, I had to recover from a backup which resulted in losing the poem I have in progress. Oh well, maybe this time I'll be able to finish it.

In the case of that poem, it's a blessing. If I'm trying too hard, it's not gonna be one of the ones I like very much. The main idea of it is scattered throughout my other poetry, actually. Is it plagiarism to reuse some lines or just plain lameness?
