Re: Terrorist point of view

Then those two men should get their definitions sorted. Freedom fighters target those who suppress their freedom; terrorists may do the same, but they also target innocent people.

Re: God Damnit World!

That's a little leftfield. I guess a lot of americans will be scratching their heads at this one, but I suppose its more about how the rest of the world views the man. Even so, while its nice to think Obama might want to seek peaceful resolutions to the world's problems, I don't get what he's suppos...

Re: Roman Polanski! Victim or Fugitive?

I can't believe these people who are trying to defend him. He flees the country for charges he admitted guilt to, and then France allows him to resettle, the film community allow him to rebuild and carry on his career, the US fails to insist on his return, and then all these deluded holywood-types r...

Re: Very strange - Shadow in the sky

I've seen this phenomenon before - looks amazing but easily explained. The dark trail is the shadow of the white chem trail projected onto the clouds. The white chem trail is a lot higher the cloud layer, and the sun is casting its shadow onto the clouds. Throughout the video the white chem trail is...

Re: Whites used to be dark, researchers find

My point was that all the technological advancements european-based cultures have created in recent centuries is based on the fact that they had the money and resources to do so. It's not about giving credit where its due, its about seeing the whole picture. Yes because the West now leads the world ...

Re: Making our country weaker - U.S. scraps missile defense

Its no good saying the US needs this system because the Russians aren't being very friendly at the moment - this system is WHY they're so on edge. It should never have been considered in the first place. If Bush wanted to create a global anti-missile system to counter potential terrorist attacks the...

Re: Bin Laden reportedly calls Obama 'powerless'

And I'm pretty certain that in this day and age, mankind has learned what not to do when it comes to taking care of the planet they live on. So if man really did migrate to Mars and leave the Earth a blighted wasteland, the same old planet-destroying habits would not be put into practice. It's not ...

Re: Whites used to be dark, researchers find

It's not that important in the grand scheme of things, but I guess humans are just curious and like to know the answers to everything. As for Europeans leading the way technologically, some might argue we're merely standing on the shoulders of giants. Prior to European colonialism, both the chinese ...

Re: Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

Looking at maps I think it's equally plausible to tie the Mercator map in with coastal details confined to the strait. Either way I'm not sure what the chain of islands at point 'e' is - they don't seem to fit either possibility. If I were to play devil's advocate to my own opinion though, the thoug...

Re: Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

I'm not convinced that the Gulf of Merosro is Hudson Bay. It is far too small, and I'm sure even early cartographers would not have got their measurements that wrong. The region around the St Lawrence is mapped in some detail but west and north is mostly guesswork based on travellers tales. I think ...
