Re: Submarine islands in the Caribbean washed away by hurricanes

Feedback received from one of the forums I posted this article on was that the islands on the sub-merged plateaus in the Caribbean may simply have been warnings to sailors of shallow waters in those areas. This sent me back to the drawing board (actually, my map books and the Internet in search of t...

Submarine islands off Brazil and in the Caribbean

For those of you that may be interested, herewith some more underwater 'coincidences'. The maps below show several 'mythical' islands that have corresponding locations below sea level. The dotted plateaus must represent partially submerged plateaus with hills forming islets. How did he know about th...

Re: Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

Your observation about the sea level 10 000 years ago is valid. If you look at the image showing the Great Bear and Great Slave Lakes, you will notice the blue shading of the Hudson Bay area. The light blue represents approx. 0-90m (0-50 fathoms) below sea level, the next darker level 90-180m, etc. ...

Re: Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

I fully agree that the Gulf of Merofro is proportionally small compared to Hudson Bay, but the details inside closely match those of Hudson Bay. For instance, it shows Southampton Island with the Bell Penisula, Coats Island and Mansel Island, along with other coastal inlets. Points F, G and H on my ...

Re: Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

Others have argued that the two lakes in question form part of the Great Lakes south of Hudson Bay, but a careful look at the Mercator maps suggests that the Great Bear and Great Slave lakes are the best candidates. The Mercator map of Hudson Bay shows virtually all of the recognizable features of H...

Terra Australis, Antarctica and the Ice Core Data

Having posted an earlier thread about my Terra Australis = Atlantis theory (Sections 1.01-1.05) http://www.riaanbooysen.com/terra-aus/87-terraproof1?start=1 , it was pointed out to me that the ice cap of Antarctica is most likely more than 700 000 years old. This does not contradict my theory – Terr...

Frisland – not mythical but submarine?

Mercator’s 1569 map shows several ‘imaginary’ islands in the northern Atlantic Ocean. A study of the ocean floor reveals that several of these can be indentified as ‘islands’ now covered by the sea. This suggests that an ancient map-making civilization existed 12 000 years ago – some of the figures ...

Hercules = Horus?

Hercules = Horus? While studying the exploits of Hercules for my translation of the ‘Pillars of Hercules’ ( http://www.riaanbooysen.com/terra-aus/87-terraproof1?start=9 ), I came to the conclusion that Hercules and Horus may have been the same person referred to in antiquity: 1. Both assisted the Go...

Re: Terra Australis (Atlantis) - conclusive evidence?

Hi All, thanks for the feedback so far. On one of the other forums it was pointed out to me that ice core samples taken from the Antarctic ice cap could be dated back to about 700 000 year ago, and in this respect my argument that the ice cap was formed after the 'destruction of Atlantis' was incorr...

Terra Australis (Atlantis) - conclusive evidence?

Hi all, you may remember my earlier posting and theory about Terra Australis Incognita being Plato’s Atlantis. I have since come across Schoner’s 1515 C-shaped Terra Australis and I realized that the map may actually be showing the conventional landmass of Terra Australis with a flooded plain. Plato...
