In an ancient tomb buried under an apartment block in a suburb of Jerusalem, researchers believe they may have found the earliest inscriptions espousing Christian beliefs -- and what may be additional clues pointing to the existence and location of Jesus' family tomb.

But experts in biblical research have been quick to dismiss those claims, calling the findings "unsurprising."

More tantalizing, the markings may indicate that those buried there were early followers of Jesus. And perhaps not coincidentally, the find is near another tomb that some believe may have been Jesus’ final resting place.

Tabor, Jacobovici, and Arav are the only ones that believe they have found the tomb that "may have been Jesus' final resting place." Final resting place implies there was no resurrection, and that, to me, is what I find not surprising.

It is likely they may find the tomb Jesus was placed in (temporarily) near tombs that belonged to others in His family. Since the tomb belonged to His uncle Joseph of Aramathia. They will not find his "final resting place", at least not on this planet. And in His final resting place, He may rest but, He is not dead.

Halfabo, would Mary and Joseph have even been able to afford a tomb in or near Jerusalem for themselves and their family?

Perhaps not, probably not. It is likely they would both be buried in their family tombs in Galilee. The tombs would have been used for generations by the same family, and they would have been buried in their home town.





His brothers and sisters may have been buried in Jerusalem if they decided to remain there.
