once* when i was high smoking weed...i named God....Skimboolasamateri
because God was so unusual...i felt He/She/It deserved an unusual name...it made perfect sense at the time...but it was hard to remember so I just call him Hal now...short for Hallowed

Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy Name

once*- i'm not implying i got high only once...just wanted to clear that up...Hal insists that i speak the truth at all times...

"Jehovah" may or may NOT be the correct pronounciation of the Name. Actually, it is first uttered when Moses asks God "Whom shall I say sent me" in Exodus chapter three verses 13-15. I'm not saying that is the first time it is used in the Bible but that is the first time MOSES (who supposedly wrote the First Five Books of the Bible) heard it.

YHVH is how it is written. There are no vowels in written Hebrew. Beyond that the consonants can have different values. "Y" ("Yod") can be our letter "I" our letter "Y" or our letter "J" depending on how it is spoken.

"V" ("Vau") can be our letter "V" OR our letter "w".

"Yahweh" is probably closer than "Jehovah,"

As for this name God names Himself...it is usually translated as "I am that I am" but it could equally be translated as "I am the First Cause" or "I am the Ground of Being."

Hope I've helped you.
