Indian Irony

Postby Cole_Trickle » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:22 pm

How ironic is this one. Bison are once again roaming free outside the confines of Yellow Stone National park. In the Past these beasts, if not herded back into the park, were simply destroyed. But Now the Feds are considering a relocation program, moving the Bison to selected locations in and around the general area.

One such location is Pine Ridge Reservation  I'm sure many here know the history of that particular locale.

But of Course Montana's Governor is pissing and moaning, wanting the Bison to stay in Montana. Typical Political Dickheadedness, probably wanting to pimp them out for sport once their numbers increase to a certain point. Who knows.

Anyway having them moved back to the Plain, a place where they were slaughtered in an effort to defeat the Indian, would be irony of a massive proportion. Can't you just see them chewing grass and blowing steam in sub-zero weather?

Somewhere the Ghost Dancers must be smiling! ;)

If you've never been to such a place I highly recommend it. The place above most all others is truly sacred ground.
