I would suggest that when Tippet approached him, he simply panicked.
People need to look closely at Operation 40, Watergate to find some of the answers. Many of the Conspirators in Kennedy's murder have been hiding in full public view for decades and have held very senior positions in Government, indeed a couple of them have held the highest office in the land.
Very possible................many people believe that Bush Sr and his band had a significant role in the assassination. Oswald was without question a pawn, preyed upon by those who tweaked him just enough to set him up..........who knows what Ruby was told, and it didn't matter anyway since he could be used as someone so distraught over the killing of Kennedy that he simply snapped and took matters into his own hands.........pretty convenient.
These are old methods which continue to be used today. Hell they even lay most of this stuff out in everyday garden variety movies, and certain Docs, crazy that more people seem to never give any of it a moments notice.
Anyway the movie called " Shooter " is a good one........Spy Game is another.......this stuff is all around us, some just need to open their eyes and their minds...
If I were to ask people why the Movie"JFK " was ever allowed to be made.............I'd get many different answers but most would be about Money or entertainment---------none would be about defusing those with difficult questions about what really happened in Dallas in 1963.
