He very simply said that the janitors in NY for example, make enough money to feed 30 poor children who could do the work themselves and probably do better at it. He went on to explain that back in the day, people worked jobs that weren't perfect, but did what they had to do to rise above poverty level.
It sounds like you'd rather the janitor make $60.00 an hour, while the 30 kids stay poor and hungry, unable to rise above or recognize in their early formative years, the value of making an honest buck.
I know you better than that, and I'm sure it isn't what you are thinking but, that's the other side of this debate and the truth and solution lie somewhere in the middle.
