At least Ralph got it right when he faught for seatbelts in cars.
One thing he said I may agree with is the status of our military inside this country. We have closed base, after base, after base. We are an all volunteer military, becasue these politians know even suggesting a draft again is political suicide. Consquently, our volunteers are short and divded up around the world, on ships, out to sea, and a lot less within our shores. We have closed countless air bases inside this country. The thinking was the cold war was over, with ICBM's we could hit anything anyway, and nobody remembered the little guy with the sling shot, is still a threat. We were completly off guard on 911, interms of readied and armed jets they could scramble, like a SAC base.
The big message Ralph really said is, we should have have planes to scramble, and he would have advocated shooting down all 4 aircraft before the hit anything.
Can you imagine if on that day, we had done that, and they never hit their targets. I'd hate to think what they would be saying if we had.
