I never wanted to leave California (it hurt so much leaving..I put on my brave face and dealt and am glad I did..the new energy was much needed for us)
H did..for his job..promotion
His tenacity got us here..but I must say, his tenacity is what is getting us back there, too
lol
I actually kinda liked it here..saw potential..he on the other hand..not so
I laugh because he hates winter more than I do (which is saying a-lot)
We are moving up towards San Francisco this time, though
I have heard Cali is thinking of becoming two states, North and South?
I'll get to Northern Cali and still pine for the South, probably..lol (the desert)

I never switched my driver's license over. (the Cali license test is a beyatch)
Deep down I knew we were coming back..I thought maybe one more year than this, but H..and his tenacity..well..

We are very excited (I really did not want to deal with another Minnesota winter..we already experienced the worst they had in years, I hear)
plus the "thrilling" tornadoes..that was "fun"

I am thankful for have been here, thouhg.
it is lovely here and now on my menta and emotional radar..which it was not before.
A place I will hold dear and wish well in my heart always, now..which I would probably not so much, have done, before.

Plus I got to see my old pals from my youth back in Chi town while here..that alone made ti all worth it.
And my son got to really expereince winter..serious winter..so he now has that in his memory bank. (you know from growing up in Buffalo what a treasure that is to have)
He also has lots of green, and trees, and woods, and walking on paths and railroad tracks, playing in ponds to add to his life/youth expereinces..again, growing up in Buffalo, you know the worth of those kinds of childhood memories.
But he is a Calfiornia kid..and for him (and for me and H, too) westside is the best side

I agree, and think everyone should get to live where the seasons change. I do actually miss that, and so does Mrs. G2. I would love to see Minnesota as well. I had a co-worker who was from Minnesota, and sounds like it would be really a beautiful place to live. Something about back east and the mid west, that is missing in California.

Hope you have a job waiting for you in SF area. Parts of SF are expensive to live in, and one of the areas Real Estate has not totally nosedived. Not all up there however.


Hope you and Sandra can get togather before you leave, and hope you plan a little siteseeing for the trip back to Califonia. Maybe take afew pictures to share with the board of interresting places. Might be a good idea for a new forum, where nobody argues and we only allow things like trip pictures or pictures of our areas.

Most of all get connected back to the internet when you get to California, and back on the BV ASAP.

we are going through Utah again..Utah is awesome

This time we are going back a little bit more north than when we came out here..avoiding the plains (to be honest, on the way out here Nebraska was kinda boring..as was much of Iowa..want to avoid that this time)

WE are going through South Dakota, Wyomng, Utah, Nevada, then California (ALL amazingly beautiful states)

should be way cool.

Sounds like you will go to Mt. Rusemore, Yellowstone, and the grand Tetons.

yep..Definately seeing Mt. Rushmoore and Devils Tower, Definately checking out Yellowstone, I can't wait to see Moab, Utah and Devil's Canyon. It is stunning.

What's on the test? A simulated traffic jam to see if you can resist shooting anyone?

I actually scanned the DMV test I took to get my license back though I don't know if it would be "legal" to post it. Out of 20 questions or so, one is allowed to miss 3 or fewer questions if I recall. There are at least 3 tricky questions.

it's a non issue..as I kept thsi license..
I have taken several State's tests so I can compare.
It is one of the hardest and that is well known, fyi.
