Watchers

"The Watchers are cosmic beings, who possess the innate ability to achieve virtually any effect desired, including augmenting personal attributes, time and space manipulation, molecular manipulation, energy projection, and a range of mental powers. They also have access to highly advanced technology."

Watchers here are described as fictonal beings in Marvel Comics, I'd say someone
in Marvel Comics knows something, I'd say they are a Watcher.
“Living backwards!” Alice repeated in great
astonishment. “I never heard of such a thing!”
“—but there’s one great advantage in it, that one’s
memory works both ways.”

I was thinking the same thing. Watchers, Angels, Messengers..etc..
Dawkins thinks belief in God is an excuse to evade thinking in the scientific world. Sadly, he is ignorant to the list of christian scientists who have contributed & founded many of the sciences he himself believes in. How ironic.

A watcher is not necessarily an angel. Angel means messenger of God.

Watchers (as in Marvel Comics) were suppose to only observe and record in the event any civilization destroyed itself or was destroyed, the information would be there for others. Many stories evolved from some Watchers, particularly, Uatu, the Watcher of Earth, interacting with civilization because of an attachment to it from observing. I do believe the first story was Uatu interacting with the Fantastic Four in order to warn them about the coming of Galactus. Now there's a being I hope doesn't really exists.

Whether there be beings watching us and their powers I dunno. I think it's quite possible that there are some beings as respectful of other beings by just observing and learning rather than interacting, just like there are scientist respectful of life here on Earth that study through observation rather than interaction. I think as far as entertainment media, stories like Communion and Fire In The Sky make it to people's attention because even if it depicts the negative beings, it's more entertaining.
