Alternative Economies, Anyone?

Have you contemplated even the slightest possibility that there may be an alternative to capeetalism or communism? Or heard of alternatives?

The problem is that no one has come up with a better system. Economics is nothing more than the system of transfer of goods and services from one person, or group, to another. No one will do anything without incentives and all systems that use mainly negative incentives have been defeated. Capitalism uses mainly, but not entirely, positive incentives to motivate creativity.
The real problem is not capitalism vs. other systems. Its honesty vs. dishonesty. Capitalist countries always end up overrun by corruption. So you don't get capitalism either. The industrial revolution is an example of what capitalism is capable of.
Today, we have devolved back into the feudal system, where a few people own all the natural resources and everyone else is legally prevented from accessing them. In Colorado, you aren't even allowed to collect water that falls from the sky! Next thing you know they'll outlaw catching the rays of the sun.
The bottom line is that people have to be able to benefit from their creativity or there will be none. If I paint a masterpiece, it does NOT belong to the public domain.
My profession has been destroyed by free crap. And so the profession is dead. And it will move, or has moved, into the realm of the lawless, and they will steal you blind. That's what the FBI predicts by the way.

I empathize with you, CodeBlack, and agree people should be rewarded for creativity. Creativity? Who benefits from it? If it is a new way of making energy cheaper, for example, the people should benefit. A reward system could be something that, in Sanskrit, we call "atiriktum", which gives additional upgrades in resources for further creativity and incentives, ocassionally including greater pay.
As for natural resources, they belong to, or are intrusted to humans to manage properly, and owned, collectively, by the people of that socio-economic unit. While efforts can and should be perpetual for being resourceful with greater efficiencies of resources, ethically accessing the natural resources should be a source of revenue for a socio-economic unit, not some private company that lays claim, all too often nefariously, to a natural resource, ever more so when their company or the revenues generated by such natural resources leaves the socio-economic region. Key industries should be the property of the socio-economic region served also, such as transportation infrastructure, energy generation -- similar to TVA, and similar key industries. I was talking mostly about the barter system.
Most homesteaders do this, they need meat , they barter homemade soap , or eggs, or fuel. Money is the root of all evil. Like you guys have stated no matter what economy is put in place it will favor some over others, and there will be corruption no matter what.
Lets get back to livng off the land , people will use only what they need, and barter for the rest. We would not use as much of our resources either.
unfortunately we have come to far to ever go back completely, people have tasted what money can do, and most will not leave it.
