Should a child born in the USA to an illegal immigrant be a natural born citizen or be a citizen of the country the Mother came in from?

That´s a tough question...

Personally I think it should be an USA citizen, however if the mother is not allowed to stay then either give the mother a chance to take a citizenship or I guess the social service will take the child...

Or as usual just kick them back again

my father is (was) illegal. my mother is usa citizen. why should a child NOT be citizen to where he/she is born?

It’s a US citizen in my eyes. As the US points out, it’s a country of immigrants with 90% of them being illegal.

Or you could think along the lines of how the child will be brought up, ie. Will he consider himself an American or something else.

It's a very difficult subject to talk about because you need to look at every case not just the whole thing.

basically it's being smuggled illegally across the border, so I say illegal.


I agree the mom should be given a chance to become legal,but must return to country of origin before they are given a test to citizenship.

Too many have become educated to the anchor baby crap. They know if they make it here, have a child they will get everything they need via the US taxpayers. It's the biggest drain on our country.
Why can't we keep pregnent illegal moms out of the US? They can come in after they have there baby, legally.

They're called "anchor babies". But yes, the baby is a US citizen. The mother is not. Either deport her or (my personal favorite solution) END ALL WELFARE. No hospital, no school, no food stamps, etc. Then, let the mother stay. Of course, without the socialistic welfare state, the mother probably wouldn't have come here in the first place.

Did you know that illegals have "rights" in this country? I heard that on NPR.

Our democracy is fastly changing to socalism or capitalism. And I am fairly certain that if our present administration gets elected again next term (which I have total confidence it will) he will be the one to change it.

Concerning on how USA is I´d say it was a capitalism decades ago
