How many things are gone but not forgotten from our lives, which for some here go back only 2 decades, but for me to the late 40's, and my parents and grandparents generation that go back to the depression, and turn of the century. ( 1900 not 2000. ) I was thinking with cell phones, we never seen a phone booth anymore, When is the last time you saw a coin operated phone booth? Thought it would be fun to think of things nostalgic to you, of things that are gone but not forgotten.

Only 3 TV channels and Black and White TV!

Cars you could stand on the hood or roof, and not dent!

I tried to explain to my nephew , what a record player was, he laughed at me , and said Uncle **** you're making that up.... and rolled his eyes...


so I had to go home and get my KISS records...he was shocked...

Before the days of 8-tracks, you could get a 45 record player for your car, around 1964-65. The needle was held on the record and didn't bounce off.

I remember the dial up telephones, and it wasn't even THAT long ago either...
I also miss that people before 2000 actually cared about making good movies...
Same with video games, music and basicly everything...

I don't miss all the negative things though.

Those little plastic doohickeys you put in the middle of a 45's so you could play them on a full sized record player. I remember sitting around listening to my mom's 45's when I was a kid, and even getting to pick out one of my own just a few years before cassettes took over. Was also just packing up some stuff to move and found some old vhs tapes. I'm pretty sure my mom still has a vcr, but I can't remember the last time I saw one in a store. I'm not sure if I'm really old enough to play this game, though.

I miss the seventies most, I think (when i was a younger kid..born in 65)

I love watching movies from then..the fashion..the polyester..lol..remember the pull on pants covered in repeating patterns..how about velor..thos eold velor puillovers that were popular for a while.

I'm more of an 80's kid, don't remember the 70's very much (born in '76).

ETA: I think I've seen the necklace you're talking about. I would TOTALLY rock one of those!
