The right to bare arms was/is a wise one.
It was put in the constitution by the revolutionaries that origionally formed the US government because they realized the general public should be always be armed because 'you never know when the shite might hit the fan'.
Be it your from own government being the victim of a totalitarian coux or some invading force entering your country with plans of taking ya'll over..either way, the citizens need to be able to defend their turf, if needed.

That was, is the whole point of "the right to bare arms".
