ok..I've been told I can go off topic a bit, although its still on topic

Kids learning shows...what are they learning?
saw this program once on CBC..early saturday morning around 7:30 am

Have to dig back to some files to see what it was called, but I know it was on,cause I phoned a teacher friend and we talked about it.

Hour long childrens learning program, that was split into segments of 3,
I believe.
First segment was on "reproduction of animals"..First 4 minutes of that segment was on the repoduction of this certain "group" of monkeys
being STUDIED
(I'm not quite sure they weren't on some man made drug?)

Anyhow, this educational show has some voice telling, whichever children are watching ,why these animals "mate".cause its for reproduction, yet they can only get pregnant every so many times in their reproductive cycle
All good to know about animals..no complaint there...but..it went on to say these monkeys were of a special breed because they had a tremnodous amount of hostility towards each other, and copolated often as way to release that hostility, basically they were yelling and screaming at each other for awhile, then "copulating like crazy", and it didn't match at all to what they said about the monkeys reproductive cycle.

they were showing alot of "intense sex scenes" of these "monkeys", which for some reason I felt really didn't act that way, but then again sounds alot like humans :? , so i won't judge the monkeys, or the A****** that drugged them (if they did at all)

It was basically very hard core "monkey porn" being spoon fed to young children under the guise of reproduction of animals..really blew me away to see it, so much so ,I called my teacher friend, woke him up,and said if your kids are up watching TV, you might want to go check out what there watching, lest it gives them any ideas..they are not ready to handle...
Maybe I'm way to old school, like sandra says....but it made me sad to see it on a childrens program.

That was an example of something not so FAVORITE in tv shows I have seen in the "learning " catagory. maybe I'm more old school than I think I am ;) kidding..I know I am, but I'm just starting to realize that more and more.

comments always appreciated, on another thread started on this type of learning...through television, or comment however you like where ever you like, like the OP said it was ok to do so.(sighs)

Life and living is what you make it to.
What others say is not important or vital to your own thought about life and living it overall.

Those who do not have lives are those doing harm to others in any way.

I love you wisdom dark, and you make much sense to me,
please pray for me that I will discern more clearly how I do harm to others
(just a goodwill thought will do)

now that we are on the topic of favorite TV shows,
I would like to interject my favorite tv music theme songs
there have been many.

I loved the oprnings .to hawaii 50, the pretenders, lot of the spy, secret service kinda shows...(some of the best theme songs came out of that generation of those same theme typed programs)

Anyhow, since we've been encouraged to sidewind this thread a bit,

Any all time favorite theme songs off television shows for anyone here?

or just the odd few that stand out in your memory for whatever reason?

UFO Hunters - good work John on some episodes!
Monsterquest
Family Guy - greatest show ever made!!!! Stewie and Quagmire are pretty sweet, even though Adam West is hilarious on the show.
Real Time with Bill Maher - yes I'm a damn liberal and proud of it!!

Out of your list I watch these. Ghost Hunters I've some episodes but haven't made a habit of it yet. I'm told there's some
great looking women on True Blood so that may get me to watch it. Plus Michelle "Admiral Cain" Forbes playing another
Bat :silent: crazy person is worth a look. And Mad Men I just haven't gotten too yet.
What if it were true?
