If you can think of the amount of money Soccer has...and then double it, then you will come to the amount of money cricket makes for some TV companies. One Indian company paid $1 Billion for the TV rights alone last year! It is the reason I'm 99% sure I'm right, the people who run cricket would sell their grandmother for glue if they could make an extra 50p, there is just so much money for sport in the US it's amazing.
When you say Northern California, it ususally means North of San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge
I haven't started to really look into the California section of my trip yet, I've done some basic research into it, but I'm pretty sure it will be north of San Francisco.
