being part native american..I thought the story was pretty good. I cried through half of it. If we had had dragons...north america would be much different than it is today.

Well, the dragons would have overrun this world long before humans would and humans wouldn't even be able to rise from the dirt.

Well without them we are nothing, humans means nothing if they don't have anything.

I want to see it..I like Cameron's stuff. (Terminator and Titanic are tow of my favorite movies)
I hear it's visually stunning. I basically have a blind right eye, so the 3D thing won't work for me, though.
Though, the plot reminds me of Disney's "Pocahontas"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkV-of_eN2w (some you tube genius should do a mix-up of that song with Avatar images..not non-techie me..but if I could...possibly..somewhere, some guy known as "Jim," is thinking something like, "she is such an a-ho#@!")

Still, the message is an honorable one.
One that does need to be brought up over and over..like a booster shot for the soul.

Avatar gives the message in the wrong way though, just like District 9 did.

It's playing on the message that anything humans do is bad and that we're all just run by greed, corruption, and have a lust for destruction to get our way. I mean, hell, the only GOOD humans in the entire movie didn't even WANT to be human. It was like they saw it as the most evil thing ever and the only way to properly live is being in the body of a different species all together.
War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.

Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.

Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.

And the wrong thing about it would be?
I myself don't want to be human at all, and I have had that wish since aslong as I can remember.
And for the record, as far as we know, humans ARE the most evil thing ever.

I bet 99,9% of all humans would turn ugly if they for example got into politics or religion, drugs, business or cults of anykind and I also include trends.
As if most of that percentage isn't on there right now

You know exactly what my answer is going to be, DS.

Regardless, not every human is like the CEO in the movie, or the colonel, or the soldiers. Most humans would side with the Na'vi while retaining their humanity. The writers of Avatar, of course, specifically leave this part out because they don't WANT to show the good side of humanity. They don't WANT to show that the humans in this movie were a very small minority, and that good still prevails in our species. All they want to do is profit off the current feelings of the masses by guilting them even more into thinking that it's a terrible thing to be a human.

Uhmmm there were a few people who took the Na'vi side although they couldn't do much about it.
Same situation on this world, the few people who actually sees above any kind of ideology on this planet who wants the good for nature and the lifeforms living in it are being overpowered by those with killing toys.
Of course those with the power of speech overpowers them aswell, specially these catholics and muslims.
They all talk and talk about what is good or bad, they don't know sh*t.
