Whats the test for being declared native American .......

You must be at least 1\500th native American or something like that.

It's different for every tribe but the tribe I would be a member of has theirs set at 1/16th. Most would be closer to that, some higher and some lower.


Also, I was mocking you when I said AC/DC wasn't aussie. Notice, in the originial post over the subject, I said IF I really wanted to stretch it.

Also, having 3 members of a 4 memeber group being born in a different place is a bit different than having one member of a 4 member group. L2 count.

Thats why i raised flee & RHCP, remember to make the point that most U.S bands are make up of people from other countries.

That was my point that a bands nationality is not based on the nationality of the band members.

A band is bigger than the people who play in it.

In the case of RHCP there are 4 of which only 2 are original members,
Michael "Flea" Balzary & Anthony Kiedis.

& 9 former members.

bringing to a total of 13 members since they where 1st formed in 1983.

Of the 13 members (as far as i know ) only one member was born in Australia.

Thus making the band 1/13th Australian.


However with AC/DC it is a different matter.


As iv already said in earlier posts.

Out of the 5 members of AC/DC only one current member was Born in Australia,
((( But they all have Australian Citizenship )))


However to make my point, out of the 5 current member only one member was BORN in Australis, so yes you could say that the band was not even Australian as only 1/5 of the band is Australian.

& since most the current members come from the U.K then the band must be British.

Thats just not the case.



Of the 5 current members there is only 1 Australian Born member in the Band.

But when you look at the long list of Former members of AC/DC' you see that well over 50% of them are AUSTRALIAN'S.

The linage & the heritage of AC/DC is & will always be Australian.

As i said the nationality of a Band is based on where the band started & who hellped the band to reach the heights of their success.

In the case of AC/DC that is the Australian's .......... from the band members to the Australian producers & the Australian music label to the mangers & the fans......ect ect.

AC/DC, Urban lead Aussie Grammys charge


Veteran Australian rockers AC/DC and country star Keith Urban have collected a swag of nominations for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards.

But music's night of nights is set to be a showdown between Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

Beyonce is the early frontrunner with 10 nominations.

Swift - a 19-year-old pop and country princess - has eight nods.

Other artists and bands loaded with nominations include Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas and the Dave Matthews Band.

The Grammys will be staged inside the 20,000-seat Staples Centre in downtown Los Angeles on January 31.

Urban's four Grammy nominations come as he prepares to fly home to Australia with wife Nicole Kidman and daughter Sunday Rose for a concert tour and Christmas with their families.

"We'll be able to spend it with all of our extended family on Nic's side and my side, so we're really looking forward to that," Urban told People magazine.

"My sister-in-law on Nic's side has four children and my brother has two, so there'll be lots of kids running around."

Urban is nominated for best male country vocal performance for Sweet Thing, best country album for Defying Gravity, best long form music video for Love, Pain And The Whole Crazy World Tour Live and best country collaboration with Brad Paisley for Start A Band.

In the vocal performance category Urban goes head-to-head with George Strait and Trace Adkins, while the album category places Urban against Swift's chart-topping Fearless.

Age has not slowed down AC/DC - formed in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. The rockers picked up two nominations.

AC/DC's album Black Ice is competing for the Grammy in the best rock album category with U2's No Line On The Horizon and Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown.


AC/DC is also nominated for best hard rock performance for War Machine.

Beyonce's 10 nods include album of the year for I Am... Sasha Fierce, song of the year for Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and record of the year for Halo.

Swift's nominations are headed by album of the year for Fearless, as well as song and record of the year for her hit, You Belong With Me.

Eccentric diva Lady Gaga scored five nominations, garnering a best album nod for The Fame.

Competing against Beyonce, Swift and Lady Gaga for album of the year are The Black Eyed Peas (I Gotta Feeling) and Kings of Leon (Use Somebody).

AC/DC take hard rock Grammy

AUSTRALIAN rockers AC/DC have won the first Grammy of their career, ending one of the most notable snubs by the music industry's top awards.

The band won the best hard rock performance statuette for the song War Machine, beating past winners Metallica and Linkin Park as well as Nickelback and Alice in Chains.

However they missed out on the coveted best rock album, which went to rivals Green Day for 21st Century Breakdown.



AC/DC did not get its first Grammy nomination until 1991 when its album The Razors Edge was cited in the two-year-old hard rock performance category.

A handful of nominations dribbled in over the ensuing years, although the band's recorded output had slowed by then.

During AC/DC's heyday in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Grammy voters largely ignored rock music and especially its harder offshoots.

In 1980, when AC/DC released what would turn out to be one of the biggest records of all time, Back in Black, the Grammys showered statuettes on Christopher Cross and Bob Seger.

AC/DC is currently touring New Zealand as part of the Black Ice world tour that kicked off in the United States in October 2008.


Meanwhile two-time Grammy winner Keith Urban added a third to his collection, picking up an award for best male country vocal performance for his single Sweet Thing, but missed out on best country album which was won by teen diva Taylor Swift.

The other Australian artists were not so lucky in their quest for Grammys glory.

Slash to perform at MTV launch ~ Wants Angry Anderson on stage
The pair have a long friendship.

GUNS 'N' ROSES star Slash has asked to perform in Melbourne with his Aussie friend Angry Anderson.

The famous US rock guitarist requested that the Rose Tattoo frontman join him on stage at the MTV Classic launch in Melbourne - an invite-only affair at the Palace Theatre on April 28.

The show will air on MTV on May 1 at 5pm.

"That was one of the provisos of him agreeing to come out apparently," Anderson said.

"He wants to catch up, we haven't seen one another in quite a few years, but we connected on a deep and dare I say spiritual level beyond just music."

Slash sent a video message when Anderson was on the Australian version of TV’s This Is Your Life and his former band Guns 'N' Roses also covered Rose Tattoo's Nice Boys.


He and Anderson will perform that track at the MTV show.

"Slash could probably play up to half a dozen Tatts songs which Gunners did back in the day," Anderson said.

It is not the first time the pair have performed together.

Slash stayed in Australia after the Guns 'N' Roses 1993 tour - where Rose Tattoo supported them - jumping on stage when the Aussie band played club shows in Melbourne.
