Anyone know what the field commander references there are about dragons attacking Roman Legions on the march? I'd be interested to know where abouts the alleged attacks happened.

Generally dragons are consigned to myths, but I think it'd be interesting to find a 2000-3000 year old dragon corpse somewhere, it could rewrite a lot of history.

So far I've been able to find two sites.

Carthage in Tunisia Regulus, a Roman Consul (3rd century BC), troops killed a Dragon at Carthage,tunisia. Its skin was sent to the senate was and measured as 120ft long

And less certain is St. George and The Dragon at Sylene/Salone/Silene/Silena, Libya. A coastal town with Roman Villa 20 Km west of Al Khoms.

Dragons = Dinosaurs

In the end. who says dinosaurs couldn´t shoot fire etc?

They had millions and millions of years of evolution, I bet some species could have gained the ability to manipulate nature in some way...

It all depends on the environmental niche. The problem with dinosaurs being dragons is the KT boundary. However that does not mean that the DNA went extinct, only that many sequences were shut off in surviving species that may have been switched back on in the right enivronmental niche under the right circumstances over time. In otherwords something with dino or pre dino DNA survived and evolved closer to our own times by turning on those switches. Personally I think they could be mammals if the Bat Style Wing is correct, Armor is seen in Pangolins and armadillos, Egg Laying ability is seen platypus, the Claws, Teeth, Horns are all found in various mammals and flight endurance is clearly warm blooded.

Could be since according to findings there were some species that was a mixture of both reptile and mammal.
