This is way off anything we talk about, but if you have this problem, this is something you will love finding. My Dodge truck has clear headlight lens, but have gone from totally clear to a totally foggy like color, that blocks about 50% of your light illumination. On a dark residential street, its so dim you can't see the road without brights, and even the brights are deminished by that amount. I called the Dodge dealers, and the headlight lens are over $200 each, from aftermarket places less but still a big chunk of change, 200-250 for the pair.
Long story short, I had herd they can be reworked and polished out, than found out there is a product you can buy to fix them. I had only herd detailing places can fix them for about $100.
Mequires Waxes makes a headlight retoration kid that costs about $25. I thought that was a little expensive, as I've tried other things, only to have wasted good money. I was hesitiate to try it, but I did anyway. This kit includes the liquid you use, but also comes with an arbor and and about a 3-4" buffing disc attached to the arbor, plus a final hand polishing cloth. It all just attaches to any drill. After driving for years with it getting progressively worse, within 20 minutes this stuff restored them both to a brand new clear lens. I now have 100% of the beam hitting the road, instead of around 1/2. I just used my recharable drill, and it took about 10 minutes per side, and I was amazed at the results. It takes so little of the liquid, there is probably enough left to do 20 more cars with it.
Really an amazing product that if you need it, its just what will fix your headlights. Mine were to a point of really being dangerous, not seeing the road. Easy stuff to use, well worth buying if your vehicle has this same problem.
