i've read that eating a locally-gathered (or however one should word that) honey is good to build up your resistance to common allergies specific to your area ... the thinking being that the bees are 'including' pollen from a variety of the most common blooming plants in your area so this will help your body build up a tolerance to them

interesting idea ... i don't know if it's been tested or anything but i am a believer in supporting one's local economy so i always look for a local product anyway :)

and i like honey to put on my cereal :)
