"MuckRock News reports that Freedom of Information Act requests faxed to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) started coming back as undeliverable a couple weeks ago. The OSD confirms their fax machine is down, possibly for another few months, because there's no money in their tens of billions of dollars a year budget for a new one, and they can't switch to email as a request method. "The office that oversees the most powerful military in history (not to mention the best-funded) is unable to project when its single fax machine will once again be operational." ... -foia.html

Well it id nice to know that freedom of information is so low on the agenda of the US military.

"It’s way beyond insulting our intelligence, they’re not even trying to present a semblance of deception.

When they eventually do get the fax back up and running, someone should file a FOIA request for documents related to the breakdown of the old fax machine and the procurement of its replacement."

i agree!
here is the original article, it does mention foia requests are not being processed very well or fast, but are still being accepted via online or regular mail ... w-machine/
