Although everyone agrees this person who did this act, must be some sort of nutcase, imbalanced, and totally out of touch with reality, he will not meet the burden for "Not guilty by insanity", for a multitude of reasons. Many of the things he did show he was not compelled by forces of his mind he could not control, and also that he knew what he did was wrong. Too many of the elements of his crime, will disprove the insanity defense. This is a hard defense to prove in courts. What else can his lawyer try?
