For the sake of argument, lets say there are only a billion other universes, they all also have suns that will die, so which do you aim for. Like anything it all has a life cycle, and maybe it just shows, nobody gets out of this alive, including our universe.

You all know I am from our space industry, and a huge advocate of it. You mentioned the modern things we have from our space program, namely the microwave oven. If you actually consider what the microwave has done, a bigger argument against it could be made for the social problems we have caused with it. In the long run, the microwave could be considered one of the biggest killers we have made, topping many military weapons. How it has affected families, from unhealthy eating, to no more family sit down and talk at dinners, or just another instant gratification tool to laziness.

Funny you should say that over the internet.

True enough, between grabbing something unhealthy and popping it into the microwave, we are just as addicted to the chair we sit in to do the internet, video games and 400-500 TV channels with the remote. Paired together, we have become one of the most unhealthy societies not exercising and gaining weight. Thank God I don't drink or smoke on top of those things. Seriously the MW has led to obesity, and all the related diseases from that. How many people have died from one too many pop tarts, compared to military assault weapons used for mass murders in this country?

At what point do you draw the line? Someone could just as well say planes, trains, and automobiles make us lazy. You could say that electricity makes us lazy. Or that we should roast food over a fire pit instead of use an oven.

Probably the start of the industrial revolution in the 1800 was the beginning, but I do not think it compares to what has evolved in our lifetime from the 60's onward. The invention of the texas instruments first calculator and the first Pong game, launched the computer age, and all the computer technology built into everything. Instant touch, instant gratification, gadgets for everything under the sun.

Again true enough, when you consider how computer age technology has made what use to be impossible, every day stuff. Not saying great things have not come with technology, and/or the space program, just saying for everything new and great, sometimes there is a down side as well.

The down side to advances in medical technology is what, overpopulation?
