I was going to post this on ATS, but they drink the hardcore coolaid over there a bit much for a possibly reasonable explaination.
Some buddies of mine stumbled on this, and we've been trying to figure it out for a while now. So, onto those who probably know more than we do.

what is this?

i can tell you the following from what ive gone and looked at: the entire line is only .4 km or so in length. its at a heading of 34.64 degrees and each hole is about 40-45 feet in diameter. the distance from the eastern-most most hole to the tajikistan border is .75km. its at an entry to a valley and its in what was probably a long time ago, a riverbed (that isn't water, its snow). Holes have been there since at least 2004, hasn't been updated since 2007.

they look more like craters than anything to me. it is in a relatively uninhabited area, nearest cities are in tajikistan, 9 and 12 km away. nearest village in china is 45km away.
given all of that, it could be from the use of explosives, either by the military (training bombing run by chineese pilots?) or by people shooting crap across the border (mortars, etc?).
i would rule out a blasting for a railroad, given there aren't a series of them there to continue with. i would also rule out blasting for mining as there isn't any mining gear nearby unless they're very old and also depleted, but it also doesn't look like the area is worn out from being dug up or drained of oil, there aren't any pipes around. check out the distance between each hole, its fairly consistent until you get to the most eastern one.

I at first thought about them being border sensors. But then the pattern they are in doesn't make sense. they're pointed at/away from the border, not along it. if anything, they seem like they're purposefully at an entrance to the valley. The other possibility is exhaust vents for something underground, but i looked around some and couldn't see any of the tell tale signs of a concealed bunker in any of the mountains that would indicate that.

I have been said to have depth perception issues at times, i can't really tell if those are depressions or mounds. From all that i can see they're depressions, but the mind can F*** with you at times. Structures would imply they are mounds.

Can any of you identify them?

I just sent the coordinates to my boss at MUFON and see if he can come up with the answer. I will post again when he replies.

Looks like an abandon Missile Silo system to me, from the cold war era. All the silos are in line, so they might move underground on straight tracks. Just a guess on that, but they also resemble pictures of the above ground structure of silos. They would be about a 40 foot diameter hole, they are surrounded by a perimeter of something that has identical pattern. On google earth you can zoom in and turn the angle, until it appears to be in flat ground, in a valley. There are about 10 equally spaced holes, or silos.

We have many of the same things, that have been dismantled, and the silo remains in tact. Some have been sold and converted to unusual houses. People buy them really cheap from the government. They are all over many states. I thing you may find many tunnel and missile systems in states like the Dakota's, Montana, Utah where they had a great idea for a moving MX missile system, underground. We still have the remains of Los Angeles Nike Bases in our foothills, even to this day. One is used for police swat training.

I could be wrong, but that is my guess, it was part of Nuke Arms treaties, and dismantling of weapons, and systems. There are probably many of them, and in remote places.

Sad part is if these are silos, and we are visited by beings from far away places, they are visible to them, just like to us on google earth. Someday, if we do not change our ways, and we kill off our planet, these symbols of why, will remain for centuries, just like the great pyramids, and the great wall. They will see the complete rise and fall of a world, if we do not get a grip on ourselves. The story they will take back home will be one of a primitive culture, capable of great things, but still so primitive in nature, we could not save ourselves from ourselves.

We could empty 95% of these silos, and still have enough lets to obliterate us back to the stone age.
