First it was Piers Bloody Morgan. And now another foreigner is upbraiding the US over its gun laws – in the form of the Chinese state-controlled Global Times newspaper.
In an editorial headlined “Political inertia hinders gun control action”, the paper argues.
There is clearly an urgent need for gun control in the US, where over 30,000 people are killed by guns a year, more than the number of Americans that have died in all the years of the Iraq war. Guns are part of the history of the US as a country of immigrants, but the situation has changed over the last 200 years. It is recognized that guns are part of America’s traditions and national situation, and cannot simply be regarded as bad. But they have led to more and more problems. Just a reminder that Mao Zedung banned guns in China just before murdering 80 million people. It would take the USA 3,000 years of gun deaths in the united states to total the number of lives that Mao took in just 4 years.

Does that vindicate the chinese sytel of gov't?

This is a very under reported piece of informations today in lieu of the line that Government knows what is best for people...Father Government is the solution to more and more of the woes of nations and the globe.
The news media itself is in on this deception and avoding reporting on concepts and studies like Democide.

About three quarters of the way down the Wiki article under the heading "Research on Democide" the author R. J. Rummel makes this very interesting statement.

His research shows that the death toll from democide is far greater than the death toll from war. After studying over 8,000 reports of government-caused deaths, Rummel estimates that there have been 262 million victims of democide in the last century. According to his figures, six times as many people have died from the inflictions of people working for governments than have died in battle.

Remember that in the last 100 years is the time of educated and enlightened leadership throughout the world. Caring Humanistic peoples everywhere....particularly in government.


This article particularly mentions what happened in Communist China under Mao.

When I hear the words Human and Humanism...My instincts always flag/warn me that this is what happened in the last 100 years since humanism begain to lead the world.

Remember..this article does not count the number of people killed in wars..this numer is "In addition" to wars.


When you see articles like this one ..it is not difficult to understand why governments would want their people disarmed.

Thats right, 260 million deaths! directly attributed to human death by Gov't

And as orangetom mentioned, this does not include the # of deaths attributed to War. We are talking about Gov't Killing their own people!

Over time, people become to overly content with gov't... and they depend on gov't to take care of everything. They don't question, they dont demand answers when things seem out of order.

People want utopia; they think banning guns and drugs will help to create that utopia... but all it does is put power and control into the hands of the politicians we all dont trust!
Gov't always seeks to take power and freedom from the people.

Our constitution is designed to give the people the power; but now the govt is illegally making laws that undermine the United States constitution and our bill of rights. We've always been the beacon of light for the world but they are trying hard to snuff that beacon of light out.
