It does feel that our leaders want us dependent on the gov't. These social programs are way out of control. We cannot sustain this path we are on for much longer.

Well, it's oh-so-painfully obvious that a significant number of people were successfully wooed with the promise of government help. Like drones... like zombies... they staggered their way to the voting booths and pressed the shiny, blinking, "get free stuff" button. Clearly, they have no Earthly idea what they are geting us in to... and clearly they have no knowledge of current events, i.e. Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, etc. And it's not entirely their fault. The mainstream media left all that news on their cutting room floors...

If you ever want to know what these people are all about... the young, impressionable, uninformed folks who gathered together to get Obama re-elected... just look at video clips of them being interviewed on the streets. Most of them didn't know who Mitt Romney is, don't know who the Vice President is, what a free-market system is, what individual liberty means, who our founding fathers were or what they intended for us, or the answer to just about any remedial question about our government or state of affairs.

Basically we have a significant number of young, ignorant people in our population who don't care about the future or care much about anything except when the government check is going to hit the mail box.

Hence the result.

Romney told us all about the 47%, now people may believe it, too late.

Since that video surfaced, I said "only 47%?" Today, we clearly know its higher.

And before anyone decides to jump all over me, yes, I know some need entitlements. Some need welfare. Some need 8,000 weeks of unemployment. My argument - many do not. They just need a kick in the pants to get out, do more, get a job, etc. Shockingly, jobs are there, but may require to be "underemployed." Yes, that is a step I've taken, and it isn't fun. But, it has to be done.

My daughters have been taking government classes in high school and their supposed to be non-partisan. Apparently, that's a bunch of BS though and they and other kids are being indoctrinated with big government propaganda. My youngest daughter has gotten a job at McDonald's part-time after school. She's slowly coming around but still has this strange mentality that she should get a free paid vacation anywhere in the world she wants to go. I have no idea where the hell she got that idea.

Anyway, now that she works for her own money, she's awfully stingy with it, like any Democrat until you're footing the bill. My oldest daughter, her lazy sister, is constantly mooching off her because she thinks she's too good to work. I'm waiting for her to finally get frustrated enough with her older sister before I explain Socialism to her. See if she still likes the Democratic party then. Maybe then she can explain to her class full of entitled little brats what it's like to work for your money only to have it taken away and given to a lazy slob.

If you can get them off of their cell phones long enough to care, that is.

I wonder what the percentage is of hippies that eventually learned how the real world works and became Conservatives (yuppies).

It's not much different here in the great white north, either.
