Hello and thank you for your interest in becoming apart of The Black Vault News Crew...
Here is a basic idea of what The Black Vault News Crew is all about:
I want to get a team of individuals that will a) preferably, write article for The Black Vault on subjects/topics that are obvious interest to the clientele at The Black Vault. Or b) who will take articles from the millions of resources around the internet, and bring them to TheBlackVault.com using FAIR guidelines outlined below.
There are literally thousands of people a day to come to this site... so the exposure you will receive will be quite comparable to other sites of the similar niche, along with passing the word about the works you also bring to this site. Plus, you will be aiding in helping educate the masses in ways I can never explain.
So you know, TheBlackVault.com, according to Alexa.com, is ranked within the top 72,000 sites in the U.S. and within the top 314,000 in the entire world (as of October 7, 2012). Given the number of sites out there, that's pretty good as I am run by only myself, have zero advertising budget, and now have entered my 16th year of being online.
I am also looking for those interested in literally getting other works of published news to TheBlackVault.com. Under the U.S. Copyright Law, I believe whole-heartedly that the "fair use" clause applies to my site, wherein the information is used to educate the public, and is used for research by investigators visiting this site in a not-for-profit way.
This is done in two methods. 1) Taking news stories from other sources, and citing either the entire article, or a portion thereof, both ways with links to the original source. An example: TheExaminer.com publishes an article of interest. You take that article (or a portion thereof), copy and paste the contents to TheBlackVault.com, upload the photos/video, and cite the source. Here is an example: http://www.theblackvault.com/m/news/vie ... Jesus-Wife This article is from the NY Times... re-published in its entirety, and is sourced at the bottom. I believe this is fair use until I am told otherwise. If you were interested in doing this, a replication of this article exactly is highly preferred. You'll see the entire article; the author is linked to their page (not to get technical, but it opens in a new window. To do this... the "target" in the link window is "Open in a new window - _blank") and that's it. A great resource here... used under fair use... and is utilized by researchers every day.
Please note: I am also interested in those with a web camera, and are interested in becoming literally a online newscaster. I can bring your face, and your material, to THOUSANDS of people a day... so let me know!
If you are interested, to publish a news story (it does need my approval before it will show up) go to: http://www.theblackvault.com/m/news/bro ... r=add_news
Now the other way to publish to this site applies to the Case File Database, using news sources to help catalog cases of interest from around the globe. And let me tell you, there is no shortage. Every day, there are literally (from what I've seen) 5-10 maybe even more cases, that could be added. And that's a very conservative estimate. I just don't have the man power (again, it's just me) to add them all - and they should be.
An example of this is: http://www.theblackvault.com/m/events/v ... -Jerusalem
This was a article published on TheExaminer.com, wherein I cited the author (target is set to _blank so it opens in a new window); the article; and the source URL is at the bottom.
To submit a case file: http://www.theblackvault.com/m/events/b ... =add_event
There are quite a few categories for Case Files, and quite a few awesome features, so make sure you check them all out and see what interests you the most.
All factors above for sourcing I definitely need for the fair use clause... Now, some of this may seem confusing, but don't let it be. Submitting is the first step - I can help you through the rest of it to hit everything we need to make sure this is fair use and done appropriately. I can fix anything that may be missing and let you know where we might have missed something. Remember, any copyright violations they will come after me, not you, so I will make sure it's done right. Do not worry or hesitate. ANY help is a HUGE help to me!
There will be questions I am sure... and I can help you with that. I setup a forum for just this reason:

I hope this helps to get you at least started. Thank you so much for wanting to take part... and I hope to see your submissions soon. I can't tell you hope much a help this is not only to me, but the literally quarter of a million people who visit TheBlackVault.com every month.
