Heaven

Postby at1with0 » Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:30 pm

This is primarily for believers in heaven.

What is it like? Pearly gates? 72 virgins?

Is it something that is perceived by the five senses? Or perhaps a state consciousness can have?

What does scripture say about heaven (off the top of your head)?
"Be as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove."

Are you waiting for a response from a believer who is currently in heaven?

Finished listening to this
and decided to check BV.

Saw this thread and the song was still
in my mind.

Bliss may equal heaven.

So then the trick is to find a reliable source of bliss.

I hear Xtasy does the trick. Know where I can find any?

On that note my friend's Uncle was in the Vietnam War and subsequently got addicted to heroin. He said to my friend, heroin is heaven in a needle. Under the influence of heroin, your mere existence is such sweet bliss it could only be described as heaven. The problem is, once you've experienced bliss, normal life becomes a living hell in comparison. All it takes is one taste of bliss and then you're hooked permanently, with life on Earth being a literal hell.

Anyone who hasn't seen the movie Requiem For A Dream should put it on their list of must-sees.

And now I recall how Jesus would occasionally grumble out loud, wondering how much longer He would have to "endure" existence in this miserable place.
"But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about Jesus being a great teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." C.S. Lewis

Yes, hence the word RELIABLE.

Drugs are not at all reliable and have serious negative side effects.

As for a reliable source of bliss, I was thinking more along the lines of the Holy Spirit, as Christians call it.

The ego builds a cage for itself with a button to deliver its fix.

I guess the mind MUST be deluding itself if it thinks it is dining upon "divinity."
