What makes you think my feelings were hurt? I'm just trying to remind you of some forum etiquette. You made no attempt to understand greeney's point. I don't believe that greeney''s intention was to validate fictional artistry as any sort of evidence for religion. All he is saying is that you "suspend" belief for the movies, but none of you want to suspend belief just for a second to consider something other that what you can taste touch hear see and feel. Maybe if you try it in places other than a movie theater it might add value to your life... At least that's all I got from it But, you may want to get further clarification from him first, I dont want to mis-represent him.

Horrified? Gee, maybe the internet isn't for you. However, if you took some time to understand the point rather than getting your panties in a bunch then maybe you wouldn't be so horrified.
DIssOn88r wrote:Being honest again here: Treating superhero movies or fantasy stories like Harry Potter as if those can validate religious beliefs in the supernatural or deities is simply not reasonable.
They're made-up. They're fake. It doesn't matter if you think they resemble something you might believe in. They're not real. And by comparing your beliefs to imaginary characters and events from movies and books, you are not helping make your case.
Wow.. I cant believe you actually took time to write that? Are you you so gullible to believe that people actually think Harry Potter is real?
DIssOn88r wrote:Hey, I even like your Blade Runner example of imagining possible future technology. However, that's a matter of science. It's not equivalent to claims of supernatural beings or magical powers backed by... Harry Potter.
Hey, if human civilization keeps progressing the way it has for the next 1000 yrs.. I wouldn't doubt if someone conjures up the world of Harry Potter.. it wouldn't be so fantasy at all then would it?
