Pain lies on the riverside, folks. If you want to live until no end (life forever), you've got to be born again... and learn to swim all over again. 8-)

One of the best songs from one of the best artists' best CD of the 90's. Bar none.

I have never taken Life
Yet I have often paid the price
And you, you are a victim of this age
And the guilt that hangs around your neck
Has got me locked up in a cage

You've got to learn to live until no end
But first you must learn to swim
All over again
Because...

Pain lies on the riverside
And Pain will never say goodbye
Pain Lies on the Riverside
So put you feet in the water
Put your head in the water
Put your soul in the water
And join me for a swim tonight

I have forever, always tried
To stay clean and constantly baptized
I am aware that the river's banks are dry
And to wait for a flood
Is to wait for life

I've got to learn to live until no end
But first I must learn to swim all
Over again,
Because...

Pain lies on the Riverside.

Are you trying to scare people, IG? Because its working. Very artistic but a bit too maudlin. Like I said before, I always thought Baptism was a positive, uplifting thing. Not sure it helps dead people though. The whole point is to do it while your alive. And I wonder what the Mormons were trying to accomplish. They never said in the story whether or not they were digging people up. That would be creepier than that video.

"Uh oh, we're gonna talk about God now. Cause if we are, I'm gonna need another pop."

My family has a very long history of having to deal with religious people doing bad things, so naturally I'm against whacky religious stuff, the point of this thread.

Code,

Yes...Baptism in the water is supposed to be positive. I posted that as
I'm an artsy person and thought it interesting, rather haunting tho'. I
take liberties when it comes to art. I'm a poet/musician and my brother
is a painter/poet/musician so I find some stuff interesting that others
may not.

Know what you mean about some religious people not practicing what they
preach. I am spiritual and my back yard is the water. Water is "me" . You're
welcome to commune in Spirit by the water with me when and if you feel
the need. You can even jump in...just watch them 'gators. ;) :)

Code stated:

"The world really is becoming an ideocracy."

This quote came to mind for what it's worth.

"Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or idealism."

Thanks IG, nice. I often enjoy a nice dip and being from Houston I know how to avoid alligators. ;)

According to Bill Maher, who is not very smart, but his people might have gotten this right...

Joan of Arc

Anne Frank

Mormons didn't baptize Hiter.
