just a feeling of being, makes one be, but then following your discussion a bit further I was thinking, 'can something exist but not be aware of it's own existence?'
A late stage alzheimer patient is kinda like that..for the most part, they simply exist..in the eternal now..no ego or geniune sense of self left (it's a horrible disease)
their brain pretty much, cannot hold any memory beyond the very moment they are experiencing (at any given moment)
yet they exist, and are alive, and can even be interacted with (to an extent)
