I knew that wouldn't satisfy you when I wrote it but I'm okay with that. My guess is, no response will satisfy you unless it conforms to your point of view.

Of course it doesn't satisfy me. It was all stock answers. I was hoping for something from you that would go deeper, something with a bit more personal POV behind it than just claiming "I believe belief X because book Y says it's true".

Look, we both know we have different beliefs. Why say something like "I knew you wouldn't accept my answer because you're not part of club Z..."? :eh:

You don't get it!

Calling people cynical and argumentative and demeaning is just ad hominem. I asked some questions, believers went into an uproar. I asked some more questions, I was called cynical and argumentative and demeaning.

I thought we agreed to tone down that kind of rhetoric. Hum is right; You're a hypocrite.

First of all, reread what I said. I didn't say I believe just because book Y says so. No, everything else has proven book Y to be true for me. Stock answer? Hardly! It may be that Christian's experience many of the same things and describe them in similar Christian terms but each Christian has a personal relationship with the Lord which is hardly "stock". It is what it is. Truth is conveyed whether the answers seem "stock" or not. If it is personal experiences you are looking for I am not going to share them unless the Lord tells me to do otherwise.

Why say something like that? Because it is true. The truth is, you are not part of the family of God, at least that is the impression I get. Therefore, you WILL see things differently.

I read what you wrote but I took it to mean you received the spirit or revelation or whatever from your belief in the bible. Are you saying that anyone who believes in and follows Christian teachings isn't a true christian unless they also have some sort of supernatural experience?

Which came first for you, belief or confirmation? Is it impossible to be a true christian without that confirmation? Will those other christians still go to Heaven if they follow the word and do everything else they should, or is it only for special chosen christians who received confirmation and know for sure?

You want the rules to be on your terms where you have no boundries, but cry foul, when you find someone who will give it right back to you. You can be low down and dirty, hit below the belt, and expect the other side to act like Saints.

Don't go playing dumb Disson80r, your delusionary comment to qmarks explanation of why he believes how he does, was no more than a mean spirited, kick in the teeth so someone being honest with you. Your only game here is to stir up sh*t.
