I have read The Holographic Universe, and it was pretty good, but I disagreed with the conclusions.

If you ever get a chance, I think you would like a book called The Fabric of Reality by David Deutsch.

Personally, the first few chapters of that, when I was young, were the most mind-blowing things I had ever read, also about Quantum Physics but with an infinite parallel Universes explanation rather than a Hologram explanation, although it is possible in theory both could exist at the same time, of course.

If there truly are an infinite number of parallel Universes, it might make more sense if reality was not actually real, due to it being so unbelievably strange.

A good read though and a really controversial book.

I have a lot of good books here, we should do a book swap!

Hmm, interesting (to me) that I recently had a dream in which my spirit guide/guardian angel was angry with me and part of that dream involved him reciting a bunch of books he has read.

Conclusions? Which hundred of them did you disagree with? That author was all over the board... trying to explain everything from physical reality to NDE's, astral travel, ghosts, and just about any psychiatric ailment ever diagnosed.

I disagreed with almost all of his conclusions and found him to be much like a New-Ager that thinks they know the deep meaning behind everything that ever happened. And he gave some really wild... insane... testimonies from people that he took at face value which I thought was silly and irresonsible.

BUT... the quantum physics part of his book which was supported by actual brilliant physicists and such, that is why I bought it and I gleaned a lot.

Interesting... eerily similar.

I still remember that dream sequence as if it just happened.

Wel...the conclusion that the universe itself is a hologram.

My memory is a little sketchy but I remember he cited experiments that showed the brain stores memory similar to a hologram with each part containing all the information of the whole, and that coupled with Bohm's interpretation of quantum physics led to the conclusion that the Universe is a hologram.

As I say, memory is sketchy but I remember finding it interesting but not as convincing as Deutsch's book.

But yeah, once you accept his claim that the Universe is a hologram or virtual reality, it's easy to use that as a broad brush explanation for anything and everything you can think of.

Amazing how 2 readers can have different impressions Humphreys, sounds like a science experiment may have different impressions too!

No, I think its the other way around, your nerve is struck. You can not accept that other people think differently from you, and you are relentless, in your so called debate to insist on your point of view. Thats obvious about God subjects when people disagree.

You do not seem to grasp, that 2 people can have different "takes", on the same book, or like the science experiment of libets, even other researchers are not in agreement with him. I did not see it the way you do, and neither did other researchers. The concept that you could be wrong, or that there are different points of view don't seem to enter your brain.

When you counterdict yourself from one thread to another, it does proove a point to bring it up. Seeing someone eslse point of view is not exactly your strong point, and when things don't go your way, in your mind, your point was not considered, rather than considered and rejected, like Libets experiment was rejected by other researchers. The idea that you and non believers are the only critical thinkers on earth and that everyone else is a illogical ninny, just shows your arrogance.

When I'm wrong I admit it. Just because you're too slow to realize you're hopelessly wrong does not mean the fault is with me.

You are wrong over 100 times a day and I've never seen you admit error once, so maybe take a look in the mirror before spouting off at me.

Also, what you are doing here is not right, you're following me from one thread into this one and potentially derailing another thread, that is akin to spamming and is not on. As a mod you should know that, keep the threads contained.
