Well, to be separated from God is a type of death. Death=separation. Physical death is body and spirit separation. Spiritual death is separation from God.

Mr. Baggins, I have no problem with religion BUT I don’t like to be told how to live my life (at all, just don’t do it because it’s going to fall on deaf ears).

God tells us to live a certain way, not to be controlling, but to give us a better life. It's about moderation and what's good for you. I drink beer, but I don't get drunk. I dance. I watch movies, but I don't watch pornos. ect.

Why does the bible speak in riddles?

And (this is the best one) why did the pope not allow the bible to be translated into any language because Latin is gods’ language (or something along those lines).

The bible is written in such a way that you have to study it. I don't follow the pope so I don't care what he thinks. I follow the bible because it's God's word.

Amen to that. I just think it is a little arrogant for someone to think Jesus needs us to accept Him. It's the other way around.

As far as "coming to" Jesus, we are all born without the ability to do such a thing. It is God's grace that empowers us to come to Jesus. We should be praying for God's grace and mercy. Amen?

Or how about all of us who aren't already brainwashed and need just a smidgen of evidence to convince us utterly that a sky-daddy created all? What about us? That doesn't seem awfully fair.

Then understand it as a metaphor, from the perspective that if you don't come to understand the message that God sent then you will continue on in ignorance of the things that will bring you out of your fleshly slavery. Even if you completely remove the religious aspect, the point still holds. If you don't listen to wisdom then you are lost and you will eventually pay the price for that. Just common sense. Don't get caught up in the technicalities and miss the entire point of the message.

Anti-religious people too often concentrate on the historical details and completely ignore the message. Don't quote me crimes committed by the church. My faith does not depend on the church, thank God.

Getting to heaven when you die? I think that has been mis-interpreted or a distortion. "When you die" does not mean the end of a human life. It means the end of the human species as a fleshly creature. Dead is dead. So I guess I don't believe in the afterlife. The concept was created to give hope to the hopeless, dying of disease and starvation.

The universe is a dangerous place and no place is safe forever. You have to keep moving. And we better get started.

If 66 books of testimony that have stood up to thousands of years of scrutiny doesn't qualify as a "smidgen" of evidence, then what does?

I'm guessing that to you, the only thing that could be fair is for every single person who ever lived by given a free pass.
