Okay, don't ask me why, but for some reason I was thinking about this today and it suddenly clicked

why China has banned time travel - it is now possible, because of China's unparalleled miniaturization efforts, for the average citizen(wealthy though they would surely have to be) to build their own time machine. I refer to the work of fiction
Timeline by Michael Crichton(it was also made into a movie). They had used the theory of quantum computing to create a time machine by (roughly) taking every molecule or atom of a person, assigning it a value in bits/bytes, then taking that info. and somehow teleporting it into the past and presto/chango - time travel. China has somehow figured out how to miniaturize the whole operation so that, instead in requiring the space equivalent to say Rhode Island, it all fits in an average warehouse. The topic about scientists teleporting bits of light also plays a part in my theory...just because it sounds cool.
Anyway I remember a program on Discovery or History channel a few months ago that outlined the theory of a future 'mega-super computer' that could theoretically take all the information in a single point in time, analyze and digitize it, (I'm a little fuzzy on this part)then create output that would so closely resemble that point in time that it would indeed be a parallel universe, alternate reality...something like that. Well that got me to thinking about a topic started awhile back about somebody asking if anyone knew the true nature or purpose of the internet and I had guessed at the answer by mentioning the web bot project. What if sometime in the future the web bot programs were actually used to test this time travel theory by collecting all the information on what happened at a single (even split-second would be a start) point in time.
