Arnold Accuses GOP of Hypocrisy

Postby nightwolf » Mon Feb 22, 2010 7:57 am

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) accused his Republican colleagues in Washington on Sunday of blatant hypocrisy on the stimulus package -- railing against the jobs bill in public while posing for stimulus-related projects and ceremonies in their home districts.

Appearing on ABC's This Week, the moderate Republican frequent GOP scourge pointed to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in particular for arguing this past week that the stimulus bill hadn't produced a single "net" job gain.

"I find it interesting that you have a lot of the Republicans running around, and pushing back on the stimulus money and saying, 'This doesn't create any new job,'" said Schwarzenegger. "And then they go out and do the photo ops, posing with the big check and they say: 'Isn't this great, look at the kind of money I've provided for the state and this is money to create jobs, and this has created 10,000 new jobs, this has created 20,000 news jobs, and all those kinds of things.' It doesn't match up."

It's hypocrisy, said host Terry Moran. "Exactly," Schwarzenegger replied.

"I don't want to beat up on my Republican colleagues but I think it is kind of politics rather than thinking about one thing, and this is: 'How do we support the president? How do we support him and everything we can in order to go and stimulate the economy back and think about the people and not the politics?'

"Anyone that says this hasn't created a job, they should talk to the 150,000 people getting jobs in California," he added, "from the private sector and also from the public sector."

Romney, it should be noted, has already been slapped on the wrist once for the stimulus-related statement he made during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday. The Associated Press fact-checked the speech and found his "assertions lacked context at best and at worst were flat-out wrong."

At least there is one Republican who understand things, who thought it would be Arnold?

Hardley a Republican, yet another RHINO .

It won't be so funny when that fake money runs out , the states will all be broke. And ironically they will all look like California.

Why is Arnold not a Republican?

That's one thing I'll never understand about the GOP, so no more moderates are allowed in the party? Like I said Bloodstone, we'll never agree about politics, but there's nothing wrong with a good debate.

He is a lefty hollywood lib. No way in hell is he a republican. Or a moderate for that matter.

We need true conservatives in office, not moderates (progressives) This stimulus joke is gonna crash hard when that money stops going to the states to make believe they are balancing their budgets. All states will soon be crippled with all the legacy entitlements. There is no way they will be able to pay for all these pyramid, ponzi schemes. It just doesn't add up.

If California would just enforce the laws on illegal immigration itself would save that state from certain death. They are too far gone to do that now.

It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better, if it ever does.

Come on now Bloodstone, as a liberal myself I can assure you that not everyone in the Democratic caucus is a progressive. If that was the case, the health bill would of been signed and delivered by now with a public option.

Exactly what do you do for your party? :? Do you get involved in their meetings? How often do you write to them to show your interest in matters? Parties have little groups that they set up (UKIP, my party, had the EU Education program, I can't think what they call it now, and many other groups), are you a member of one of them? Did you do anything for them other than donate a few $?

That is a genuine question by the way. A lot of people talk about how "they would do things if they were in-charge" but yet they never actually do anything to get themselves into that position. I'm going to get involved with UKIP's campaign if they're running for my Constituency and I might, probably will, if they're not going for mine but they are going for one of them around me.

That's why I'm allowed to bitch Lash.

I am very involved. I contact my Senators, and Congressmen all the time. It's to a point now , where they don't even take our calls. They are tired of hearing how wrong they are all the time.

It's like Obama says " they just aren't explaining it enough" They still don't hear us. They think we are stupid, and they know what's best for us. They will all be defeated this time, cause we all know they are not listening. No matter how much they explain things. They are still wrong.
