On a early evening several years ago, I went outside to my back yard and sat down on my patio for a few minutes. It was about 7pm as I recall, and actually very cloudy outside, after sundown. I was just relaxing a few minutes before dinner, and noticing how the clouds were scattered wondering if we were in for some rain. As I looked almost directly upward, a small open patch in the clouds, I observed a bright white light pass from south to north, but because the path was so small, my sighting was only a few seconds. I said to myself,"Wow I just saw the space station", because I knew what the space station would look like having seen it before. When you see the space station or the space shuttle fly over, it is a noticably larger size white light, appearing much larger and bolder than the North star. I came inside excited to look up on the satelitte tracking websites, what had passed by but was not able to make any match to anything flying over Los Angeles at that time. Most satellites you see in orbit, many appear directly overhead as this one did, however, they usually are the size and brightness of regular stars, you just catch them moving across the sky. I am pretty certain what I saw, was some satellite, but could not find any tracking match. Technically it remains by definition a UFO, becasue I was unable to identify what it was on that day. I didn't think much about it at the time, was very excited what I saw, told my wife and kids, and tried looked up what it could have been. I didn't really record the dates, I'm guessing it was 7-10 years ago, do not even remember the month, but due to the clouds was probably fall or winter month. Dates given are complety approximate, becasue the data base requires a given date.
