Looked directly up above (overhead) on a stary night and saw an opening the shape of a rectangle with light in it very far up which quickly shut. There was no light casting out of the box just light inside of the opening.
I had the impression since there was no outline after the light went out it was more of an opening in the sky than an object. I had the feeling I had seen something I should not have seen. I have never seen anything like this before and have not seen it again. Where I live the stars are very visible and that night was a very clear night.
There are no lights and I am surrounded by water. I look out nightly and can say that I saw both the little dipper and the big dipper that night but this was due directly overhead very far up. No sound. After I looked up and saw this it closed in 10 seconds.
